Why don't I have nice clear skin?
Succeeding in understanding your skin
Everyone has their own skin type: dry, normal, combination or oily. This skin type is defined by our genetics and cannot be changed, except in the case of hormonal imbalance (following medication, illness, or simply at certain stages of life such as menopause). It is therefore necessary to know which type corresponds to your skin, understand its characteristics and know how to accept it.
Another detail to take into account are skin conditions, such as sensitivity or dehydration. These particularities can be found in all skin types and can be easily resolved. Again, it is enough to know how to recognize them to be able to remedy them more easily.
So, if our skin does not see its needs met, it can quickly make life difficult for you: dull complexion, imperfections (acne spots, clogged pores), itching, tightness, worsening of its condition(s). The skin then quickly loses its suppleness and the first signs of aging can quickly appear.
Factors responsible for dull complexion and blemishes
So skin type cannot be changed, but behind skin conditions there are many factors responsible for epidermal imperfections.
External aggressions, first of all, are difficult to escape. Many are natural: the sun, allergies, bad weather, etc. Each season has its share of unpleasantness for the skin : summer and its UV rays, winter and its freezing temperatures. Mid-season is perhaps the least appreciated by the epidermis: during these periods, the weather and temperatures experience sudden changes from one day to the next, which leaves little time for the skin to prepare. But these external aggressions can also be linked to life in an urban environment, such as pollution, or to shower water that is too hard, for example.
Other aggressions can come from your habits: poor diet, neglected or inadequate skin hygiene, lack of water, constant anxiety, etc. These are all factors that can have a more or less direct impact on the beauty and good health of your skin.
To counteract all the harmful effects of these attacks and take care of your skin, here are some actions that we recommend you follow every day!
Steps to follow for clearer skin
Adopt a healthy lifestyle
The skin is a reflection of what is happening inside the body. The desire to have healthy and clear skin is one more reason to put an end to your bad habits!
You have probably already noticed that after eating too much fatty food or drinking too much alcohol, your skin is immediately impacted: dull complexion, acne spots and blackheads, and many other annoyances. At this moment, your body is indeed overwhelmed by this significant intake of toxins. The organs redouble their efforts to evacuate them but quickly find themselves saturated. Another is then called upon: the skin. This is how the body gets rid of all the accumulated toxins, and imperfections can then appear. To take care of your skin, limit rich foods, processed products, too sweet or too salty, and consume alcohol in moderation.
Skin dehydration problems are sometimes simply linked to insufficient water intake. But if left untreated, this problem can quickly lead to the appearance of the first signs of aging. To provide it with the hydration it needs, remember to drink water regularly throughout the day, at least 1.5 liters.
Anxiety can also indirectly have a stressful effect on the skin, which then suffers the harmful effects: loss of suppleness and radiance, appearance of imperfections and the first signs of aging. Relaxing and taking time for yourself is therefore essential to do good to your skin. These moments can be moments of rest, because it is during the night that your skin repairs itself in depth! Make sure you get a good night's sleep, long enough, to promote the cellular regeneration of your epidermis and have beautiful, clear skin.
Finally, regular exercise is essential for your health as well as for the beauty and radiance of your skin. Physical exercise helps to flush toxins from the body, and the water lost through sweating also helps to hydrate the skin. In addition to benefiting your skin, exercising allows you to exercise and let your mind clear so you can relax better. A healthy mind means healthy skin!
Adopt the right beauty routine
Identifying your skin type is also essential to understanding the routine you need. It is indeed recommended to choose suitable care products so as not to aggravate your skin condition.
A good beauty routine includes:
− A first step of double cleansing with a makeup remover and a cleanser. The ideal is to choose a makeup remover oil, for its virtuous properties for the skin, a makeup remover milk or even a micellar water. Eau de Lait combines these last two products in one for softer and smoother skin. This step removes impurities accumulated during the day and excess sebum to prevent it from stagnating on the surface of your skin and clogging your pores. The cleanser, for its part, will perfect makeup removal, by eliminating sweat and dust.
− A scrub with a gentle exfoliant. It is recommended to do this once or twice a week to remove the accumulation of dead cells. This step is essential to keep your skin clear and your complexion radiant.
− A lotion can complete the skin cleansing step and provide initial hydration to the skin to prepare for the next treatments.
− A moisturizing treatment, such as a cream or serum, to be applied at the end of the routine, morning and evening. Soothing, restorative, nourishing, purifying or even anti-aging; it allows you to target a specific need of the skin.
For skin that needs it most, this routine can be completed with a mask (balm or fabric) to target specific issues.
For DIY enthusiasts, certain natural ingredients can help clear skin: vegetable butter such as Almond butter, vegetable oils such as Jojoba oil or Sunflower oil, or even floral waters such as Rose water, which is suitable for all skin types.
Collosol prepares treatments from some of these ingredients for a complete routine. Discover this range very soon which will take care of your skin gently!
Be gentle with your eyes
The eye area is a very fragile and sensitive part. Dark circles, bags and fine lines settle there very easily, which can dull the face and give a tired appearance.
This area should first be cleaned with a suitable treatment, such as biphasic treatments. To take care of this very fine skin that requires special attention, avoid using the same moisturizer as for the rest of the face. It would indeed be too heavy for this fine area. Instead, choose a cream or serum specially designed for this part of the face.
Also, opt for gentle movements, such as tapping or light massages, when applying your treatments. Pulling and rubbing could further sensitize this already fragile area!
Protect your skin from external damage
Although external aggressions can hardly be avoided, it is entirely possible to protect yourself from them!
The care you apply already acts as a first barrier of protection against pollution particles. Against the sun and the harmful effects of UV rays, apply a sunscreen with a high protection factor daily, at least on the face and neck. There are also 2-in-1 foundations that include sun protection.
On days of high exposure, also wear a wide-brimmed hat to shade your face and sunglasses to protect your eyes.
Be careful what you put on your skin
To protect your skin from clogged pores and imperfections, be vigilant about your daily actions, starting with your mobile phone. A real breeding ground for germs, you most often touch it with dirty hands and it hangs around at the bottom of your bag. By holding it to your face, you bring all these impurities and their harmful effects on the epidermis to your skin. So clean your phone regularly with a wipe! This is also the case for makeup brushes, which should be washed regularly when the pigments are too impregnated, or even your pillowcase, which should be washed at least once a week.
Very often, you may naturally bring your hands to your face. By reflex and habit, you therefore bring these germs to your face, responsible for the appearance of imperfections. Therefore, avoid touching your face with your hands as much as possible during the day. Wash your hands regularly, and especially before applying your makeup or skincare.
It is by paying attention to all these little gestures that you will be able to more easily have clear skin!
